The blizzard of the decade has come and gone leaving in its wake a bunch of white stuff.

My interview with the Wisconsin people went well. The company isn't all that exciting but the culture is. There seems to be a real commitment between the company and their employees. You can usually get a sense about how people feel about their employer - even if they're saying the right things, they can't hide the truth. These people liked where they worked. The hiring manager is a little different - not sure how it would be to work for him but one of the people I spoke said he was ok, not a micromanager or anything. We had to cut the interview short because of the impending blizzard so I didn't get to do the tour of the city, but that's ok. It looks alot like Cornville and I can't imagine anything is that different from one small town to another.

The drive home was longggggggggggggggggg. It took about 5 hours to get there. It took almost 8 to get home. With darkness came heavy snow and zero visibility so I found a nice hotel (which they paid for) and called it quits for the night. Luckily the roads were clear so the remaining drive wasn't bad but then more snow hit today and wow....somewhere between 8-12 inches of snow and ice fell. The snow blower was almost useless. I can't imagine what it would have been like if I hadn't been working out the past few weeks.

I have 3 phone interviews tomorrow; 2 with hiring managers and 1 with HR. There's a really intereseting job I found out about yesterday. It's down in TX which isn't on the top of my list, but it's a job about maintaining rather than existing systems. The pay is phenomenal also.

There's a mediator training class in March in Indy. I really want to do it but it's a few thousand dollars. I have the severance but I'm scared to spend it on something like this. What if I don't get anything permanent for months? If I have something in the next month, then I could take it and then what? Not use it? Or maybe use it for something like CASA? It's a thought. It would be nice to change careers in three years when doodle is out of school. Do something I could enjoy again.

Speaking of doodle...she's being a total bitch lately and I'm getting really sick of the snarkiness. She wants me to listen to her random comments but hasn't the courtesty to wait until I'm done with what I'm doing. Then gets pissed when I don't respond right away. TEENAGERS!!!!! I'd sell her cheap if I could find a buyer.
